چکیده

Titin is a giant protein that functions as molecular spring in sarcomeres. interconnects the contraction of actin-containing thin filaments and myosin-containing thick filaments. breaks down to form urinary titin N-fragments, which are measurable urine. Urinary N-fragment was originally reported be useful biomarker diagnosis muscle dystrophy. Recently, has been increasingly gaining attention novel atrophy intensive care unit-acquired weakness critically ill patients, whom loss possible pathophysiology. Furthermore, several studies have also reflected patients with chronic illnesses. It may used predict risk post-intensive syndrome or monitor patients’ condition after hospital discharge for better nutritional rehabilitation management. We provide tips on use this promising syndrome.

Intensive-care-unit-acquired muscle weakness.

Neuromuscular abnormalities culminating in skeletal-muscle weakness occur very commonly in critically ill patients. Intensive-care-unit (ICU) acquired neuromuscular abnormalities are typically divided into 2 discrete classes: polyneuropathy and myopathy. However, it is likely that these 2 entities commonly coexist, with myopathy being the most common cause of weakness. Major risk factors for IC...

Clinical review: intensive care unit acquired weakness.

A substantial number of patients admitted to the ICU because of an acute illness, complicated surgery, severe trauma, or burn injury will develop a de novo form of muscle weakness during the ICU stay that is referred to as "intensive care unit acquired weakness" (ICUAW). This ICUAW evoked by critical illness can be due to axonal neuropathy, primary myopathy, or both. Underlying pathophysiologic...

Muscle Atrophy in Intensive Care Unit Patients

INTRODUCTION The muscle atrophy is one of the most important and frequent problems observed in patients in Intensive Care Units. The term describes the disorder in the structure and in the function of the muscle while incidence rates range from 25-90 % in patients with prolonged hospitalization. PURPOSE This is a review containing all data related to the issue of muscle atrophy and is especia...

Molecular mechanisms of intensive care unit-acquired weakness.

Intensive care unit-acquired weakness (ICUAW) is an increasingly recognised and important clinical consequence of critical illness. It is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. The aetiology of this disease is not well understood. The purpose of this article is to review our understanding of the molecular pathogenesis of ICUAW in the context of current knowledge of clinical risk f...
